Milej Pty Ltd (ABN 79 620 924 245) trading as Instant Car Offer ("we", "us") handles personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This policy explains what we collect, why, and who we share it with.
What we collect
- Vehicle information: registration number, state, make, model, year, odometer, transmission, service history, condition and any notes you provide.
- Contact information: your name, email address, mobile number and postcode.
- Technical and marketing information: IP address, browser and device information, pages viewed, referring website, and campaign identifiers such as UTM parameters and Google click identifiers.
Why we collect it
To obtain offers for your vehicle from licensed motor dealers, to communicate with you about those offers, to introduce you to a dealer when you accept one, to improve the service, and to meet our legal obligations.
Who we disclose it to
- Licensed motor dealers. Your vehicle details and location are shared with dealers so they can prepare an offer. Your name, email address and phone number are not disclosed to dealers until you choose an offer to progress, at which point they are disclosed to that dealer only.
- Service providers who host our website, send our email and provide analytics, under contractual confidentiality obligations.
- Regulators or law enforcement where we are required or authorised by law to do so.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not distribute your contact details to a panel of buyers who then contact you unsolicited.
Direct marketing and consent
By submitting the form you consent to us contacting you about your submission and any resulting offers, by email, SMS and phone, in accordance with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Every marketing message includes an unsubscribe option, and you can opt out at any time by emailing [email protected]. Opting out of marketing does not stop transactional messages about an offer you are progressing.
Cookies and analytics
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the site, measure performance and attribute marketing. You can block cookies in your browser, though parts of the site may not work as intended.
Storage and security
Information is stored on servers located in Australia or with providers that meet Australian privacy requirements. We take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No online transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Retention
We keep submission records for as long as needed for the purposes above and to meet legal obligations, then destroy or de-identify them.
Access, correction and complaints
Email [email protected] with the subject line "Privacy request" to access, correct or delete the information we hold about you. We respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
